The Republic of Kenya is a country in Eastern Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the northeast, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, and Sudan to the northwest, with the Indian Ocean running along the southeast border. Its capital city is Nairobi, with another prominent city being Mombasa. It is a part of the East African Protectorate.

Circa 100,000 BCE, the Forerunners built The Portal, a slipspace portal leading to Installation 00 outside of the Milky Way galaxy, in Kenya.[1][2] Around the same time, a human elder known as N'chala and his tribe lived nearby, observing the Portal's construction.[3]
