The body bag was intended to be an object included in Halo 3. Its purpose was to hold deceased Marines. Analyzing the image of the body bag, one can observe a Marathon logo among the various details printed on the bag in the top, right corner of the bag.

The asset was first showcased by Jeremiah Strong, a Bungie artist who uploaded images of the asset to halo.bungie.org in 2008 alongside other cut assets including the medkit.[1]
