Halo Infinite has seen a large array of player customization options added over the course of its lifespan. Many options, despite being revealed in trailers, or being usable in Halo Championship Series builds have either never been released, altered prior to release, or have been outright removed from the game's files.

Armor coatings[edit]

Ambitious Intruder[edit]

The Ambitious Intruder armor coating was first seen during promotional trailers and screenshots for the Fractures: Tenrai event in November, 2021. The coating was exclusive to the Yoroi armor core, and featured an indigo color scheme, with black and golden accents. The coating would ultimately go unused. During the July update in 2024, the coating would be made compatible across all armor cores.

Access Denied[edit]

Accessed Denied was a coating first seen in Halo Infinite with the release of Season 03: Echoes Within. It remained unobtainable to the player, and was eventually removed from the game with Season 04: Infection. It was added back to Halo Infinite with Season 05: Reckoning, featuring an updated icon, and was shown off during the HaloWC 2023 Community Stage – Day 2 stream, with the coating being used on the GEN3 Mark VI armor kit. Like it's earlier variant, it was never obtainable by the player, and unlike it, isn't visible in the Armor Hall.

Heaven's Valor[edit]

Heaven's Valor originally featured a sharp, longer protrusion along its leading edge, which showed up in initial icons and promotional images for the utility piece. The utility would eventually be altered to be symmetric on both sides.

Yoroi utility armor[edit]

All Yoroi utility armor pieces released with Season 04: Infection feature an asymmetric design. However, all utility armor with the exception of Heaven's Valor were originally intended to be symmetric, having gone as far as having symmetric icons made for them. Eventually for unknown reasons, this would be changed, their icons would be updated, and the utility pieces would have their placement adjusted on the player's character model.

Visors[edit]

Kogane[edit]

Featuring a glowing lavender and white design, along with a hexagonal pattern, Kogane was a visor intended to be released for the Yoroi armor core during Season 01: Heroes of Reach. Kogane isn't analogous to any other Yoroi visor colors in terms of design, with its existence only being known of through datamining of the game's flights in 2021. Given its coloration, it's likely Kogane was altered during development to become Wisteria, another purple-white visor. The visor's name does have a meaning in Japanese, with the term Kogane (黄金) refering to a small sum of money, or gold.
