A bureaucrat can assign or revoke [[Special:ListGroupRights|user rights]] and rename user accounts.


These users are also [[Halopedia:Administrators|system administrators]]. Aside from the responsibilities of sysophood, bureaucrats have the ability to grant (and revoke) sysop or bureaucrat status to other users. This ability is used periodically to ensure the wiki has an ample number of active, capable administrators.
Historically, bureaucrat rights were granted on Halopedia at the same time as adminship. However, the accepted practice is to now only grant adminship following successful RfAs.
