The UNSC Andraste (K-201) was a UNSC Corvette attached to the UNSC Home Fleet which guarded the Sol System from enemy attack. It was not featured in Halo 3 and thus it is unknown what purpose it had in the storyline.
Concept art for this vessel was shown in the book Art of Halo 3.[1]
Trivia
'K' was once a United States Navy hull classification for a corvette but has since been retired.
- The name is likely based on Andraste, a Celtic war goddess.[2]
- The number '201' is seen on the side of the unknown ship attacking the Ark in the level, 'The Storm' 's ending cutscene. It is possible that this ship is the Andraste. However, the 'Forward Unto Dawn' has the same number designation, meaning that it could be either ship. It is possible the Andraste was the 'FUD' in concept phase.
- When compared to the Aegis Fate, many significant differences point out that the Andraste is very unlike a Frigate. If not a Corvette, it may instead be a "Light Frigate".
