I think it is just the key that opens the portal to [[The Ark]]. I think it activates the structure on Earth and opens the portal that leads to the ark. | |||

Theory
I believe the Key of Osanalan is... the Hellmouth! Or the Deep-Space Artifact, one or the other. --Dragonclaws(talk) 00:24, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

I think it is just the key that opens the portal to The Ark. I think it activates the structure on Earth and opens the portal that leads to the ark.

However, the key could be required for a full Array activation, but not for single detonations, as a sort of stop-gap measure to insure the galaxy is not wiped out by accident.
