-[[CPO Mendez]] sends the sixty-eight remaining trainees for the [[Spartan-II]] program on a new training mission in a snowcapped mountain range on [[Reach]]. He deposits each one separately with a piece of a map of the area. Under [[John]]'s guidance, they rendezvous and identify extraction point they must head to. Upon arrival they take down the non-uniformed, hostile guards and steal the [[Pelican]] dropship waiting in the landing zone. Contacting the [[AI]] [[Deja]], John manages to fly them all home. Upon return CPO Mendez makes John squad leader.
