This rift took him to Gamma Halo, the location of the Composer's Abyss. John-117 and the rest of Blue Team confronted the Promethean and digitized him with the combined power of five Composers. Master-crafted by Misriah Armory, the Pattern-2 composite sword is a machete-style melee weapon often issued to UNSC forces deployed to jungle environments. The sword's grip notably includes a thin gel layer similar to that found within MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor, a feature which reduces the shock felt by the user. Pattern-2 composite swords are commonly fielded by Spartans for use in assassinations and melee combat. Spartan Hieu Dinh's personal machete "Wolf Fang" has been sharpened on Covenant armor and has been used to execute many Banished foes.
