Langston was an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper in the UNSC Marine Corps. He was part of the 105th Shock Troops Division, and was assigned to the UNSC Atlas during 2525.[2]

Biography[edit]

Life[edit]

Prior to his death in April 2525, Langston had befriended Brimley.[2]

Death[edit]

On April 2525, Langston was stationed on UNSC Atlas under the command of then-Second Lieutenant Antonio Silva.[3] He was one of two ODSTs accidentally killed by John-117 on the 22 April, while two others were severely injured, after a fight in the ship's gym.[1]

Legacy[edit]

Before the deployment to Ariel for Operation: FIRESIDE on January 8, 2552, Langston's death at the hands of John-117 in 2525 led Brimley and Romeo into an argument on the Spartans' fighting prowess, and eventually into a full-on fight, in which he overpowered Romeo before Dutch intervened.[2]

During the Battle of Installation 04 on September 20, 2552, a bitter Silva revealed to Captain Jacob Keyes that the fight that left Langston dead was staged to test the Spartan's capabilities.[3] The story of Langston's death was also later shared to Benjamin Giraud by Anthony Petrosky, who had been present to witness the fight. This story was later relayed by Giraud to the wider public, inflaming outrage at the Unified Earth Government across the colonies.[4] However, as Giraud later went on ECB News to discuss the story and his evidence, Petrosky reversed course, claiming that he had been hired by ONI to infiltrate an insurrectionist organisation and that the events of the fight aboard UNSC Atlas were merely an old military ghost story that no one truly believed.[5]

Personality[edit]

Langston was described by Brimley as a "Good guy, but liked to think with his fists."[2]
