The Yado-pattern Intrusion Carapace is a Covenant drop pod manufactured by Assembly Forges.[1] The Yado was heavily employed by Sangheili forces of the Covenant for during the Human-Covenant War.
Operational history[edit]
Yado-pattern drop pods were carried by the stealth intrusion forces of the Fleet of Valiant Prudence during the late stages of the Human-Covenant War. They were employed during the Fall of Reach, and were used to deploy Sangheili forces at the Farkas Lake Sabre Program Launch/Research Range, during the commencement of Operation: UPPER CUT.[2]
Production notes[edit]
During the gameplay reveal of Halo: Reach in its E3 2010 trailer, Covenant forces could be seen deploying in the level Long Night of Solace as they do in the final game - though they did not use Yado-pattern carapaces. The Covenant in the trailer used an alternate drop pod design that was cut from the final game. In 2017, this alternate design was canonised in the book Halo: Warfleet – An Illustrated Guide to the Spacecraft of Halo as the Suspa Al-pattern Assault Carapace.
