The Gydrozka Workshop Breaching Pod is a drop pod utilized by the Banished to deploy an individual from warships at high altitudes to the surface.[1]
Design details
Drop pods used by the Banished were manufactured by the Kordulaan War-Forge and developed by the Gydrozka workshop. The drop pod features four stabilizing thrusters at its fore and a gravitic braking chute at its rear to deaccelerate. The pod's frame is heavily armored and dense in the hopes of damaging potential opposition. After landing, the pod releases its hatch with an explosive blast, intended to inflict damage on nearby enemies.[1]
Operational history
Hydrozka Workshop Breaching Pods saw heavy use during the Battle for Zeta Halo.[2] These were typically dropped in large clusters to ensure infiltration of target.[1]
Gameplay
Before the drop pods land, they shine a red light on the ground. Soon after the occupant leaves the drop pod, it overloads like a heavily damaged vehicle, and then explodes harmlessly. Drop pods can transport Brutes, Elites, Hunters, Jackals or Grunts of any rank.[2]
While the drop pod explodes when used to deploy enemies, intact pods can be found across the surface of the ring as non-destructible scenery.[2]
