{{Halopedia:Main Page/Random/Layout|CORRUPTER|File:SaturnDevouringHisSon Artwork.jpg|CORRUPTER is a UNSC cryptonym that is declared in the event that a Spartan has been infected by the Flood, that safeguards intended to prevent their infection have failed, and that weapons of mass destruction have been authorized for use. The only known instance of CORRUPTER being enacted came in 2556 during an outbreak at Site 22, the location of a buried Forerunner vessel on an asteroid in the Marcey system. After receiving confirmation of the outbreak, Captain Alvarez of the UNSC ''Saturn'' deployed Fireteam Leviathan to Site 22, hoping to eliminate the outbreak without needing to destroy Site 22 and the precious resources it contained. However, when the Spartans were ultimately lost to the Flood, Captain Alvarez declared CORRUPTER and launched the ship's complement of Shiva-class nuclear missiles at the site.}} | |||

The Mulsanne-class frigate is unique among UNSC warships as its primary armament is a directed energy weapon rather than a magnetic accelerator cannon. While powerful, the Brightlance reflex laser still cannot pierce the robust shielding utilized Covenant assault carriers. Mulsanne-class frigates have seen service in multiple battles of the post-era, including the Installation 07 conflict that began in late 2559. During this prolonged conflict, one of these frigates—the UNSC Mortal Reverie—was shot down on Zeta Halo. Its crash site became a makeshift base of operations for local UNSC forces before eventually falling to the Banished.
