Interestingly, the Spartan III programme never went public, unlike the Spartan II's. This means there would be no need to have declared the Spartans as MIA to save face since there was no general public morale to boost. It would be sensible to conclude that Team Lima were pronounced MIA simply as another Spartan tradition, rather than protocol.

Team Lima was one of the teams in Spartan-III Beta Company.[1]

History[edit]

The members of Team Lima were recruited voluntarily from the survivors of Covenant attacks circa 2539.[2][3][Note 1] They were trained under the watchful eye of Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose on the planet Onyx.

Operation: TORPEDO[edit]

Main article: Operation: TORPEDO

After Operation: TORPEDO, all members of this group, along with most of Beta Company, were pronounced KIA, as the explosion killed almost every SPARTAN-III, with the exception of Tom-B292 and Lucy-B091, the only known survivors.

List of appearances[edit]

Notes[edit]

  1. ^ Lessons Learned establishes that Beta Company members Tom-B292 and Lucy-B091 were six years old when they started their training. Page 106 of the Halo Encyclopedia (2022 edition) establishes that Tom and Lucy were born on April 14, 2533 and January 28, 2533, respectively. This makes Beta Company's start date somewhere between April 2539 and January 2540.
