SABABWL is an acronym for a quote by Martin O'Donnell from the original Halo: Combat Evolved press coverage in early 2001. The acronym stands for "shiny and bumpy and bursting with love!"; O'Donnell's description for Halo on the Xbox console (in reference to the game's usage of bump mapping and other graphics production techniques).[1]
The acronym has appeared a handful of times across the Halo franchise;
- In the Halo: Original Soundtrack.
- In Halo 3 on the map High Ground. The phrase can be heard as morse code emitted from the radio in the flag room.
