Unggoy Assaults, or Grunt Assaults, are a class of Unggoy that serve the Banished.
Overview
Unggoy Assaults are essentially the equivalent of the Covenant's Unggoy Majors. They are slightly better armored and somewhat more aggressive than the bottom-ranking Unggoy Conscripts, but still not a significant threat on their own. Like the Conscripts, Unggoy Assaults tend to panic and flee if they see their Sangheili or Jiralhanae officers get killed. Also like the Conscripts, Assaults will occasionally turn suicidal, equipping dual Plasma Grenades in a last ditch attempt to kill their opponents.
Equipment
Unggoy Assaults wear methane rebreathers that cover the entire head. Their methane tanks and combat harnesses are similar in design to the ones worn by the Unggoy Imperials that served in the various Covenant remnant factions. Red Unggoy Assaults wield Disruptors, while purple Assaults carry Type-54 plasma pistols. Both variants carry plasma grenades.[1]
