The Unggoy Conscript is a class of Unggoy foot soldiers affiliated with the Banished.[2]
Overview[edit]
Roles and responsibilities[edit]
Conscripts are basic Grunt units utilized by the Banished as light foot soldiers and cannon fodder, just like the Unggoy Minors in the original Covenant. They serve as low-tier frontline soldiers, often deployed in large numbers while led by Sangheili or Jiralhanae squad leaders. They pose little threat individually, but pose a greater danger in larger groups led by their superiors. They panic when their leaders are slain, throwing their group into disarray. Conscripts can only advance in their rank if they show extraordinary courage and are responsible for meaningful achievements during combat.[2]
Operational history[edit]
Conscripts saw heavy use by the Banished during the war on Installation 07.[1]
Equipment[edit]
Conscripts are equipped with regular Unggoy methane rebreathers, and utilize orange or blue pointed methane tanks and combat harnesses. Orange Conscripts carry Rohakadu-pattern plasma pistols, while blue Conscripts carry Posu'gelka-pattern needlers. Both types carry plasma grenades. They will occasionally turn suicidal, equipping dual plasma grenades in a last attempt to kill their opponents.[1]
