The Slipspace Engine is a game engine developed by 343 Industries.[1]

Development

Around the release of Halo 5: Guardians the engine was secretly worked on, and took several years to develop. The Slipspace Engine demo at E3 2018 was the culmination of the then-years of work.[1] While the engine is largely new, remnants of the old Blam! engine remain.[2]

Games

Halo Infinite

It is the game engine that is being used for the upcoming Halo Infinite.[3]

Trivia

The engine's name is a direct reference to the in-universe method of faster-than-light travel method, Slipstream space.
