Canada is a nation that comprises a large portion of the northern United Republic of North America.[1]
History
Canada was founded in 1867 and was legislatively independent from the United Kingdom in 1931. Canada was a founding member of the United Nations in 1945 and of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in 1949.
Eventually, it, along with Mexico and the political remnants of the United States of America became part of the loose association known as the United Republic of North America.[1]
