:Frankly, I think even the UNSC have to look at each other and scratch their heads when they take a tally of Covenant ship classes. You have destroyers as big as cruisers, cruisers as big as carriers, battleships as big as cruisers, and cruisers smaller than corvettes. In my own mind, the UNSC probably has no real idea what function the ships fill when first encountered, and make a best guess based on appearance or function, and then when it turns out that they're way off the name's stuck. Remember, the Covenant probably don't use the same ship classifications humanity does, and the UNSC's applying type-analogues to ships never intended for those roles. Plus, the UNSC probably isn't the only one who has been introducing new ships into service to replace older ones, which may be throwing the UNSC off. Per the discussion I think Morhek makes a fair point on the whole classification thing. Given that the CRS looks like the baby brother of the [[CCS-class battlecruiser|CCS]] and [[RCS-class armored cruiser|RCS]]. I can see some guy at ONI going, "Yeah, that'll be a cruiser because it looks exactly the same as that other ship....Which I already said was a cruiser.
