Prologue is the name of the first track of the Halo 2 Soundtrack Volume 2. It is played in the opening menus of Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 and extends into the cutscene of The Heretic. Prologue was remade as Second Prelude on the Halo 2 Anniversary Original Soundtrack.
The first section is called "Rising" and is a small part of the MJOLNIR Mix with Halo style drums.
The second section starts at 0:20 and is called "Cloistered Expectancy"; it is the Halo 2 version of the Chant, also featured at the end of The Last Spartan.
The third and last section starts at 0:49 and is called "Weight Of Failure"; it is more commonly known as the "Arbiter's Theme".
Trivia
- Weight Of Failure can be heard in the Halo 2 track Ghosts of Reach, and the its Halo 3 remake, Dread Intrusion.
- The title "Weight Of Failure" is likely a reference to Thel Vadam's loss of Installation 04 and how he had to become the Arbiter, as it is his theme.
