Naomi-010, born Naomi Sentzke, is a SPARTAN-II supersoldier. In January 2553, she was assigned to Kilo-Five, a highly covert intelligence unit under the command of Captain Serin Osman.[1]
Biography
Early childhood
Born on the colony of Sansar, Naomi was the only child of Staffan Sentzke and his wife. Like the other SPARTAN-IIs, Naomi-010 was abducted at the age of six and conscripted into the SPARTAN-II Program in 2517. She survived the subsequent augmentation procedures.
Unbeknownst to Naomi, she was replaced by a flash clone who died after one and a half years. Her devastated mother came to believe that her "daughter's" death was the result of a hereditary genetic defect, and decided to undergo sterilization; she committed suicide six months later. Correctly deducing that the clone wasn't his real daughter, and that her disappearance was the result of a government conspiracy, her father developed a deep hatred for the UNSC and later became an Insurrectionist leader on Venezia.[2]
Career
Naomi-010 survived the Human-Covenant War. She, along with several Office of Naval Intelligence operatives and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, was picked by Admiral Margaret Parangosky for a top-secret mission to sow discord between different Sangheili factions through arming their dissidents, the group Kilo-Five. During this mission, she was equipped with a suit of newly developed MJOLNIR Mk. VII Powered Assault Armor. Aboard the UNSC Port Stanley, Naomi was told by Kilo-Five's Captain, Serin Osman, that Osman was in fact Serin-019, who Naomi-010 and the others thought had died. Naomi-010 appeared to accept the news, but was annoyed when Osman told the rest of Kilo-Five about her past. [3] Naomi-010 primarily stayed back on the next three missions enacted by Kilo-Five, the giving of tagged weapons to Avu Med 'Telcam, the extraction of Mike Spenser, and the attempted rescue of the UNSC Ariadne, which culminated in its destruction by Venezia. [4]
Trivia
Naomi's MJOLNIR Mk. VII armor bears a strong resemblance to the MJOLNIR Mk. V[B]; this resemblance is noted by characters in Halo: The Thursday War, who theorized that the design was a deliberate stylistic choice on Naomi's part. It is likely that the resemblance was accomplished by either using components of the original Mk. V or altering the suit's appearance using nanites.
