This unidentified Covenant explosive is a Covenant explosive device that was in use in 2552.[1] The grenade has a similar appearance to a Covenant antimatter charge, and may be a miniaturized form of the explosive. The explosive has only been encountered during the Battle of Ariel in early 2552. Due to the operation's archaeological nature, the explosive may be specifically intended for such purpose.
The device has notable physical similarities to the large Covenant bombs placed on board the Orbital Defense Stations in Halo 2.
