- "Faith. I knew faith when it filled the infinite expanse of empty promises and false journeys into divinity by those who manipulated my people for countless ages."
- — 'Murajai's thoughts regarding his previous belief in the Covenant religion.[1]
'Stationmaster Toda 'Murajai is a Sangheili officer serving in the Swords of Sanghelios. As of the post-war era, he serves as the superior officer of ANVIL Station, working alongside Spartan Commander Vinay Sahil to oversee the station's joint Sangheili-human forces under the Anvil Initiative.[1]
Biography[edit]
Toda 'Murajai served in the Covenant in some capacity, believing in the Covenant religion and its promises of the Great Journey. However, he renounced this belief following the Great Schism and the empire's collapse, coming to join the separatist cause. After the end of the Great War, he began to work alongside humanity as part of the ANVIL joint initiative between the Swords of Sanghelios and United Nations Space Command. Some time prior to c.2555, he began to work with Spartan Commander Vinay Sahil, working with him over the next half-decade to direct the day-to-day running of ANVIL Station.[1]
On March 3, 2560, the station received a distress call from Nysa, prompting 'Murajai and Sahil to direct the station's emergency response - deploying the command frigate Sword of Conjunction and a number of Riftborn to respond. During the mission, 'Murajai was responsible for dictating the Riftborn deployment, pairing a human with a Sangheili warrior to encourage inter-species cooperation as per Project CRUCIBLE.
Personality and traits[edit]
In the Sangheili language, the suffix "-ai" at the end of 'Murajai's name indicates his prestige as a blademaster.[2]
Inside his office on ANVIL Station (or Anvil Keep, as the Sangheili refer to it), 'Murajai keeps a saga wall consisting of a number of stone tablets that collectively tell the story of the stationmaster's clan. Despite his long-running friendship with Spartan Sahil, he has not told him the details of this story.[1]
