Life Pods[edit]
didnt the dusk pick up life pods from destroyed UNSC vessels during the Battle of Onyx? -- SILENT ONE
- All the novel says is that the Dusk tracked them. It never says whether they picked any up. So they could still be floating around there... -- CoH|Councillor]] Specops306 - Kora 'Morhek 23:18, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
probably right, but why track them if they dont pick them up. -- SILENT ONE 18:15, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Sahara[edit]
Looks like a Sahara-class heavy prowler to me. Has a lot of the same features. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 11:10, 11 October 2016 (EDT)
- It does, but I discussed this with User:ScaleMaster117 yesterday regarding PRO-49776. It turns out that the Sahara and "PRO-49776" are different classes despite being outwardly identical, the major difference being that the Sahara-class is smaller than the other. That's why I was cautious about identifying the Dusk as a Sahara despite its appearance. --Jugus (talk) 11:27, 11 October 2016 (EDT)
- As far as I know the Sahara is the bigger of the two similarly shaped prowlers. My impression from my discussions with 343i is the Circumference/Red Horse/Legends prowler are the smaller variant. The Dusk pictured here in this article is from Mythos, is it not? That may be a Sahara-class but I'll try and get that confirmed too. I actually argued against the Port Stanley being listed as a Sahara for Mythos considering it has something like 10 decks and only run by a crew of about 6. Lots of room for nobody to use. Alas, I lost that one. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 13:29, 11 October 2016 (EDT)
- Yeah, it is from Mythos. I've been comparing prowlers and "PRO-49776" and Dusk look like Sahara class, while Circumference and Red Horse appear to be of the same class. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 22:31, 11 October 2016 (EDT)
- The thing is, the Circumference and Red Horse were sketched based only on the Legends prowler, before the Sahara was ever made for Spartan Ops, so the lineage and similarity is there and implies the same class to me. For whatever reason, when they made the Sahara for Spartan Ops, although they used the earlier references for overall shape, there were probably some other considerations in effect to make a physical mesh possible. The Dusk from Mythos was more than likely painted based on the Sahara mesh which they would have easy access to at that time and better reference than the earlier works. I'll still try and confirm though. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 08:22, 12 October 2016 (EDT)
- Huh, interesting. Weirdly, I see enough difference between the Legends prowler and Red Horse, but maybe that's just me. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 11:17, 12 October 2016 (EDT)
