Scorpion Emblems in Halo 3

So I've recently been working on a port of the Scorpion from Halo 3 and after extracting all the bitmaps associated with the Scorpion, I noticed that the first circle glyph, hand symbol, lightning bolt symbol, and the second circle glyph all have textures that exist alongside the knight emblem with updated visuals to match it's style. Prior to this while playing on Avalanche in forge I recall seeing the second circle glyph while doing some testing with the Scorpion but neglected to screenshot it as I was much more focused on other tasks, and while playing The Ark I recall seeing the first circle glyph but also neglected to screenshot it as I was much more focused on gameplay, after swearing I wasn't losing my mind I proceeded to try and test to see if I could get one to spawn with either of the emblems in forge and The Ark with no results at that time, I was either seeing things or its an incredibly low chance for one to spawn with an emblem that isn't the knight, or there's some sort of other criteria for it, like dates and whatnot.

Regardless of whether they actually exist in gameplay, the textures still exist in the files and should probably be mentioned somewhere until more specifics are figured out, since they don't seem to be mentioned anywhere on the wiki as far as I know. Update on this: after poking around the M808C_Scorpion page I got the curious idea to look at the gallery and see if any of the other emblems show up in any of the images, these two images from the Halo 3 Scorpion's wiki page (Media:H3-M808ScorpionMBT-AngleSide.png and Media:H3_SnowScorpion.png) both show the second circle glyph on the Scorpion, with the first image definitely being a screenshot from in-game. Second Update on this: decided to test again in forge on sandbox, it seems to be a random chance to either spawn with the knight glyph or the second circle glyph, atleast in multiplayer/forge, the second circle glyph tanks have a different number on the side (957-A3) and rather than saying UNSCDF it says UNSCEF on the rear treads as well. tested in campaign on The Ark on normal and heroic as well and it seems to be the same as multiplayer, could only get the scorpions to spawn with either the knight or the second circle glyph, so there's either some other criteria for the rest of them to have a chance to spawn or its just an incredibly rare spawn. upon looking at the bitmaps again it seems like theres different strings of numbers associated with each emblem, T8-SB-1 seems to be associated with the lightning emblem, UE-8-14 seems to be associated with the hand symbol, and HJ13-213 with the first circle glyph (the H is difficult to make out so I could be incorrect), I don't know or think the strings of letters and numbers have any relation to actually triggering them to spawn with the emblems Wicked-Wingnut (talk) 15:41, January 22, 2025 (EST)
