Talk:New York Times Easter egg
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Merge[edit]
I don't think this is an easter egg. It's more of a common use of public domain objects to populate the fictional world, which I think is a common practice in the entertainment industry. If I'm wrong and it is an easter egg, how is it an "easter egg"? — subtank 09:19, 30 June 2015 (EDT)
- I made a judgement call. The fact that this newspaper is clearly legible while everything else on the ground is indecipherable led me to believe it was meant to be found, not unlike the Weapons card or the Identification badges. But I understand how it could be seen differently.-- Rusty-112 Admin comm 00:24, 1 July 2015 (EDT)
Isn't both the First World War and the Human-Covenant War called The Great War? Alertfiend (talk) 00:40, 1 July 2015 (EDT)
- I'm (finally) going to remove the merge proposal. If it's just about using public domain assets, why choose this particular page, and why leave it legible? There are also newspaper assets from Halo 3 which could easily have been reused, so it's not about convenience. No, this feels far too intentional. Unless someone can provide a compelling reason, we won't be merging it at this time.-- Rusty-112 Admin comm 23:07, 10 October 2015 (EDT)
