Talk:LOCUS-class Mjolnir

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Locus is Latin for "place", I think this means that it might have something to do with situational awareness, or control. This is all speculation, but all armor pieces (except the Bungie Armor) have an in-universe explanation, so maybe we could speculate as to what it's meant for. --Delta1138 SnooPING AS usual I see 13:57, 31 May 2012 (EDT)

Locus is a Helemt Skin, not a Helmet[edit]

The above link shows the "Locus" helmet from the front, and it says "Helmet Skin." Notice how the white forms an X. This can very well be refering to the Locus of Chromosomes; the center point. It's making me think that, as the title above states, the Locus is refering to a skin rather than a helmet. Missing Mandible 01:18, 1 June 2012 (EDT)

Infobox name field[edit]

About the Locus page, I don't think it's best to have the whole title "MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/Locus" in the name field of the infobox. I would prefer just "Locus", for several reasons. Firstly, I don't recall from where the custom of having variant names prefixed by "MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/..." comes from. I always just assumed it was a result of how the encyclopedia pages work, i.e., titles with "PageOne/PageTwo" functioned as subpages of "PageOne". But if you do know where the prefix comes from, let me know. Second, even if it is the case that such prefixing occurs in canon, I would still feel that including the whole prefix would amount to redundancy, whereas armor variants are commonly referred to just by "X" and not "MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/X".--Ender the Xenocide 14:33, 28 September 2014 (EDT)

I actually suggested a while ago that we omit the "MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/" prefix in most armor variants because it's redundant and there is often little canonical precedent for it. See this discussion (you might as well still reply as the discussion was never really concluded). --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 00:18, 29 September 2014 (EDT)
