Pipe's Marathon logo

The Marathon logo does appear on the pipe, if memory serves me right. In Halo's PC version with Custom Edition, you can move the camera outside of MC and look at stuff. I used that to get a close-up look at the pipe and remember seeing the marking on it. It's been a while, but I remember looking close at it and seeing something.

I can also confirm seeing a Marathon logo on Keyes' pipe. I can specifically remember seeing it in the cutscene in the bridge on the level: Pillar of Autumn. It is quite obvious, really, as I am always on the lookout for Marathon references in Halo.

Not an easter egg

Keyes' smoking pipe is a little nice object placed in that level to strongly indicate that the Flood proto-gravemind form is Keyes. While the Marathon symbol on the pipe is an easter egg (which has been covered in List of Marathon references in the Halo series), the pipe itself is not one. — subtank 12:11, 17 August 2013 (EDT)
