Working on this article now actually and I just finished up with the Escalation stuff. The quote I currently have there is:

"On a recent mission to the Outer Colonies, I encountered one Sergeant Holly Tanaka, currently of the 412th Engineer Command… During my brief time with her, Sergeant Tanaka exhibited a mix of intelligence, grit, assertiveness, and selflessness that in my many years I've rarely encountered."

Oban

She may not have had any run-ins with any knights on Oban, but it is literally not possible that she wasn't there at the time. We know she was part of the mission to Ven III that came right before the events on Oban, and we know she was still attached to the Infinity afterwards. Even if she didn't go to the surface, she was on the Infinity which was at Oban. We do know that she did go to the surface, however, thanks to the Limited Edition cards, which give her a mission on Oban to protect research material that followed the events on Ven III chronologically. Ergo, she was there on Oban during the battle of Oban in 2558. -Japeth555

Possible Firefly reference

So in Episode 8 "Out of Gas", Mal (Nathan Fillion) says to Zoe that "Tanaka raves about this guy" in reference to Wash. Given that Buck and his squad were partly inspired by Firefly, and feature at least three of the cast, could this possibly be another reference, Tanaka having the last name that she does?The Ragin Pagan (talk) 05:40, June 8, 2019 (EDT)

No. We've seen concept art of a screen where you choose your character that has Tanaka alongside Thorne back when he was still going to be on the team, not Buck.
