This sounds like a effective weapon why dont we see more of it? Sith Venator 9:46PM 9-28-08
I'm guessing it's only useful against unarmored/unshielded targets with a Human-like physiology, which precludes pretty much anything in the average Halo game...DJenser 16:54, 2 October 2012 (EDT)
I agree, this weapon was most likely not used because its only damaging internal organs of a human. This is probably blocked by shielding due to the nature of shielding tech blocking energy and sound is energy. I also believe it wasn't used against armored enemies because it may not pass through thick plating. Jiralhanaewarlord 12:03 AM EST 5/16/2022
4 Shots[edit]
How do we know if it has 4 shots? Love is Noise Love is PainLove is these blues 16:12, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- I've reverted it for now. It seems highly questionable. --Dragonclaws(talk) 06:01, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Visible wounds[edit]
If it's a sonic weapon, you'd think that that a person killed by it would have bleeding ears, right? --T 3 UserWiki:Thunderstream328|2]] 8 19:55, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, probably XD General5 7 talk contribs email
Nothing external, though. No entry wounds. And in the scene in ILB, the guy's head was crushed from falling off the building, so everyone but Rani (who frankly has superhuman powers of deduction) was fooled. --Dragonclaws(talk) 07:05, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- How do you create a sonic weapon that wouldn't make ears bleed. All sonic weapons do that. --T 3 UserWiki:Thunderstream328|2]] 8 17:58, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- No entry wounds is the point. If there can be extensive external damage from something else, generally no one would look twice at bloody ears. --Dragonclaws(talk) 18:20, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Visualising it[edit]
What on earth/reach would a sound channeling sniper rifle barrel look like?
Rifle[edit]
If it's a sonic weapon, wouldn't rifling be obsolete? PX173 13:46, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
move[edit]
I believe the current article should be moved from Hard sound rifle to "Hard sound rifle", reason being is that, being a sonic weapon it would make to sense to be a rifled weapon, and is more than likely a nickname similer to "confetti maker". thoughts and opinions please. --The Reborn Qual 'Fulsamee 11:22, 7 April 2011 (EDT)
- Okarda'phaa-pattern plasma rifles aren't rifled weapons either, yet they're called that. It seems they're just using the term to refer to rifle-sized weapons instead of their mode of operation. Besides, quotes just complicate things in titles. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 11:44, 7 April 2011 (EDT)
well plasma rifles' magnetic field might resemble a rifled shape that gives the bolt of plasma more accuracy...and quotes are complicated? how does pressing 2 buttons on a hardly visited article trouble you at all?--The Reborn Qual 'Fulsamee 11:47, 7 April 2011 (EDT)
- It doesn't give me any trouble, no, I just think it's pointless when there are other weapons that clearly aren't rifles in the traditional sense and yet are called that. I think the "hard sound" part in the title should make it clear to everyone that this isn't a "rifle" and it's only a nickname. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 11:55, 7 April 2011 (EDT)
well than we shoiuld put "" in the article to show this! on the template confeti makers are in quotes so this article should be as well.--The Reborn Qual 'Fulsamee 12:48, 7 April 2011 (EDT) Addendum: can someone get rid of ths shabla question that pops up everytime i edit?
