Talk:Halo: Silentium
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
placement[edit]
I noticed that if you scroll over Books & Media on the navigation sidebar then Novels, Silentium does not appear in the Forerunner section. Since I don't know how to fix this, could someone else do it? Thanks.Weeping Angel 15:34, 23 August 2012 (EDT)
- Thanks for pointing this out. It is there now.--Spartacus, Halopedia Administrator Talk 20:41, 2 September 2012 (EDT)
main page[edit]
Hey, I just noticed that on the main page of Halopedia that it says the Halo: Silentium will be released January 8 2013 instead of the changed release date on March 19, 2013. Shouldn't this have been changed when the new information was posted on Halo Waypoint? (I'm also kinda pissed that it isn't coming 01/08/13 like I'd hoped, just before my birthday.) --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 12:54, 29 October 2012 (EDT)Xamikaze330
- Alright, I changed it. Thanks for pointing that out.--Spartacus Talk • Contribs 13:06, 29 October 2012 (EDT)
Changes[edit]
It seems that the changes to make Silentium "fit seamlessly" have come into effect. The cover seems to have changed a little on Amazon.co.uk, and the cover seems to be completely missing on Amazon.com. The release date has also changed, to the 25th April, but I'm not sure if this is because this is the UK site. I wasn't sure if this had been noticed already, but I thought I should bring it up anyway. --TentacleTornado 16:23, 22 November 2012 (EST)
- Covers have been removed from Amazon.ca and Chapters-Indigo, but the date remains the same.-- Rusty - 112 22:02, 22 November 2012 (EST)
Keys[edit]
"Only the Ur-Didact and the Librarian...hold the keys to a solution." anybody else thinks this may refer to the two pieces of the Janus Key that was shown in spartan ops? One half is the same red-orange color that the didact uses while the other is blue like the librarian. --FATGUNN 15:51, 17 February 2013 (EST)
- I don't think so. The Janus Key only shows the location of all Forerunner artifacts in real time. --Dr Mutran (talk) 18:21, 17 February 2013 (EST)
- I have to agree. I think that, while it's possible the term "key" might refer to something contained within the vast cache of Forerunner artifacts scattered about the galaxy, and it might be an allusion to the Janus Key, which would thus reveal it's location, it's most likely a metaphor for the knowledge that the UrDact & Librarian possess about the events that led up to the Flood being unleashed upon the Forerunner Ecumene. I don't know... It just seems a bit too obvious that the "keys" in question would be a direct reference to a literal key... - DJenser (talk) 14:25, 15 March 2013 (EDT)
Preview[edit]
Just a heads up, there's a preview of a couple of chapters available for Silentium here via Google Books [1] Not sure if it's worth adding to the main article, but there you go.—This unsigned comment was made by 94.15.75.100 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- I can't read the preview --Dr Mutran (talk) 11:42, 12 March 2013 (EDT)
- The link is on the lower right side of the Pan Macmillan page. Here's a direct link to the Google Books page [2].—This unsigned comment was made by 94.15.75.100 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- Seriously? Because I'm getting a preview? Here's a screencap [3].—This unsigned comment was made by 94.15.75.100 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- Here's a cap of the button on the Pan Macmillion page [4] Which should give you this preview box that you can then view enlarged on Google Books [5]—This unsigned comment was made by 94.15.75.100 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- I'm on Firefox, but I've just checked and the preview's available to me on IE as well.—This unsigned comment was made by 94.15.75.100 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Not sure what settings you have that are different from mines but oh well. I'll look into it later. Maybe different on my home computer. Thanks for providing the link though.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 12:44, 12 March 2013 (EDT)
- No worries! I hope you manage to access it! :D—This unsigned comment was made by 94.15.75.100 (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- I can't get the link on Chrome or IE, unfortunately. I'll just wait until Amazon releases a preview, something they almost always do before the release. Thanks for letting us know and please sign your posts.--Spartacus Talk • Contribs 12:49, 12 March 2013 (EDT)
- Reading the preview, I see that it refers to an "IsoDidact" as well as the Ur-Didact. Something to take into account regarding the Bornstellar-Didact article?--The All-knowing Sith'ari (talk) 13:40, 12 March 2013 (EDT)
- How you can read the preview??!! --Dr Mutran (talk) 13:43, 12 March 2013 (EDT)
- I don't know what problem you guys have. I clicked the link and got it fine, and I'm using Chrome.--The All-knowing Sith'ari (talk) 13:50, 12 March 2013 (EDT)

Early Release on Amazon[edit]
Hey, I don't know if anyone else knew this, but I got my copy of Halo: Silentium ahead of time on March 18th from Amazon Prime. Haven't started reading it yet, but I'm going to get to it soon. Nearly halfway through the book I'm reading now. --Xamikaze330 [Transmissions] 12:09, 19 March 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
Flood = Precusors?[edit]
I know this was part of the big debate after Primordium, but it seems to me that the Flood and Precursors are one and the same. Figured I'd open it up for debate again.Col. Snipes450 17:05, 24 March 2013 (EDT)
Prologue specifics[edit]
"The Domain then lets the Juridical access it, but only to quickly overwhelm and kill him by the sheer amount of knowledge it forces into him."
How do we know that the Juridical is actually killed? Something of the sort is suggested, but the last we hear of him is that he "can't absorb it all". For all we know anything could've happened - maybe he dies, maybe he just gets knocked unconscious, or maybe he or his ancilla cuts the connection. Hard to say since the incident isn't referenced later on. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 03:17, 16 December 2013 (EST)
