Talk:Covenant supply case

I don't quite understand why we can't just bust these open and find plasma weapons in them at 100%. Why leave them there for no one to open? -Blemo 03:44, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Blemo, the crates were probably sealed so filthy human scum couldn't get said weapons/supplies, the covies must have had a special way to open them.

New idea[edit]
I was thinking that the Supply Crate should be able to recharge Covenant weaponry when you enter a certain radius in future games. This would help if you prefer plasma to kinetic in the line of arms. Anyone think this is a good idea?

Title[edit]
Regarding articles such as this one, Covenant communication node, stationary shield generator, Guardian Triptych, etc., should their titles be their human names (e.g. Covenant comm relay), or their Covenant names (e.g. Spike of Obeisance)? I'm leaning towards the Covenant names since we can just use their human names in article text, but I want to make sure I consider everything before going through with it. -- Topal the Pilot (Talk|Contribs) 00:47, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
Agreed with using the Covie names. I have been wondering what some of their names are since the New Mombasa mission in Halo 2. Alertfiend - Warning, my comments may appear passive aggressive. (Converse) 00:56, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
- I'm not sure what Halopedia has done in the past with this, but I would expect as a reader of the wiki to find articles based on what I think they're called. I'd search for communication relay or commm relay but if I'd never heard of a Triptych before in reference to Halo fiction, how would I know to search for it? Some search terms are ok from this Ground Command info recently published, but I wonder how soon this will become speculative. Do the Covenant consider ALL comm relay types to be "Spike of Obeisance" or just some? At what point will Halopedia editors be making up what gets defined this way and that? And if 343i does name drop something else we thought we knew in a category we'd guessed, how much back-editing will need to be done to correct it all? Just playing devil's advocate here...I don't know one way or the other what 343i means by these terms yet. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 07:10, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
- I'm inclined to agree. The current, descriptive names are more intuitive when it comes to searching for those subjects than the obscure religious labels, not to mention more inclusive of possible different types, so I'm in favor of keeping them. It's somewhat similar to the way we've chosen to treat our weapon and vehicle article titles, where we use the common name rather than the full technical designation. --Jugus (talk) 13:01, 17 October 2016 (EDT)
Inefficient Design[edit]
Why are these things so weird. I get that the covenant is all super advanced and has weird designs for weapons and things, but most of the supply case is solid metal. Is there more storage on the inside? We can see in the games that there's two panels, one on each big face, and they open up, but the area inside is pretty shallow, and doesn't go all the way in, leaving at least a foot or two of unused space. Does is open up further? Is it like User Echo 1 said, that they have plasma batteries on the inside. And why is it powered, it's just a crate. Maybe it acts like a charging dock for plasma weapons. I could also see the panels on the other two sides opening up and revealing more storage space.Or maybe the open ones we see are only one variant, and other ones have much more usable space for rations and ammunition (This seems to make the most sense, even though there no actual evidence to support it). All this to say, Why so little box in box. I like the design, I'm just curious on the details XD. FRAG TOSS (talk) 16:25, December 12, 2024 (EST)
