Renaming[edit]
I think this should be renamed to Carrow Conflict because its more than just a simple battle.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 14:27, 16 January 2019 (EST)
- As there is no conjecture template, I would assume that the battle is identified as such in the book or another source.--D9328 (talk) 17:59, 16 January 2019 (EST)d9328
- Its not. No official name is actually given for it in the book. The only part of the battle that gets an official name is Operation: BUZZHAWK where the Surakans destroy the Varric-pattern heavy cruiser Foebane. That's clearly called by name in one spot (only one though) and is a smaller part of the overall conflict. Its more than a simple battle for control of the planet as well. Its more like a mini-war. Near the end of the book, Rojka 'Kasaan calls it a war. Its pretty much part-civil war, part struggle with Hekabe and his faction. While talking with Akato 'Dakaj, Rojka talks about how "during this war" he realized he might not see Rak again and then talks about how the war is over and enough blood has been shed and he no longer seeks vengeance against the Demon Three. Certainly the Rojka versus Thars 'Sarov is pretty much a civil war. It includes several different fights across the planet, only some of which are really chronicled. Parts of the space battle, part of the attack on Suraka, Operation: BUZZHAWK, the attack on the Sharquoi hive, the attack on Rak by Thars' hijacked ships (the hijacking being another part that's only briefly covered) that's only partly covered... Its more like a mini-war. Or like the Battle of Installation 04 with all of those smaller battles making up one big conflict. I wouldn't go so far as to call it an actual war though.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 20:16, 16 January 2019 (EST)
- I haven't read the book myself (or anything like Mythos which might expand on the event in question) but just based on this information I think that the Carrow conflict might be a more fitting name, as it seems similar in scope to that of the Second Ark Conflict which also has the "conflict" name. Something like the "Conflict at Carrow" may also work. BaconShelf (talk) 20:31, 16 January 2019 (EST)
- Exactly. The Second Ark Conflict is probably a good example. The infobox needs alteration as well since the Jiralhanae are ultimately a third faction in the conflict. They pretended to work with Thars to get to the planet then betrayed him when they thought he'd caught onto them. He actually hadn't fyi but their whole plan was to use the Sharquoi for themselves and they always had separate goals and plans.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 21:09, 16 January 2019 (EST)

[Reset]As far as I can tell, the infobox does have the brutes as their own faction? Unless I'm missing something. BaconShelf (talk) 07:32, 17 January 2019 (EST)
- My mistake. I actually missed that. I'd go with Hekabe's faction not warpack though.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 09:32, 17 January 2019 (EST)
- Warpack is another term for pack; several other pages use it.--D9328 (talk) 14:39, 17 January 2019 (EST)d9328
- Its more than one pack of Brutes. That's said at one point. Melody Azikiwe and the ONI guy when telling Gray Team about Hekabe said that he controls several packs. Here, direct quote from page 190: "Hekabe is a rogue Jiralhanae who leads several packs and we believe he's the one who landed here on Carrow." It was said by Melody while explaining why they thought it was Hekabe (which was definitely confirmed but Gray Team nor the ONI people had actually seen in person which one it was) that was on the planet. Melody went on to explain about how they'd learned from embedded moles about Hekabe boasting about having the vertex, the Sharquoi control device which was why they thought he was the one on the planet.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 16:11, 17 January 2019 (EST)

Is anyone going to respond to my last message about renaming this??? I'm going to go with Hekabe's faction not warpack though. Its more than just one pack. When telling the Spartans about Hekabe, Melody Azikiwe states that he controls several packs and on page 251 it mentions the war packs under his control. War packs plural.--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 19:35, 23 February 2019 (EST)
Hello??? Looking for a response here!!!--WarGrowlmon18 (talk) 00:57, October 20, 2019 (EDT)
- If you let me know what you want the page renamed to I'll do it, because I agree with your reasoning. As for the infobox, you're best off taking something like Battle of Installation 04 and modifying it as it has four factions set up. BaconShelf (talk) 07:02, October 20, 2019 (EDT)
- Carrow Conflict like the Onxy and Ark Conflict pages. I'm mobile editing this and don't seem to have a way to do the signature thing by the way.
- No worries, I'll get that sorted. You can do your signature by typing four tildes (this symbol: ~). Like so ~~~~ BaconShelf (talk) 08:55, October 20, 2019 (EDT)
- Done. I'm running my bot to replace links to the page so hopefully you won't need to do any major text replacements on other pages.BaconShelf (talk) 08:56, October 20, 2019 (EDT)
