Talk:Assembly Forges
From Halopedia, the Halo wiki
Should the product list be expanded?[edit]
Is there any reason only certain weapons, vehicles, etc are listed as being created by assembly forges?
From what I can tell all Covenant weapons and vehicles, excluding maybe sangheili ships like the Lursu-pattern brigantine (i can't find any sources that say where these were made). On other pages about specific Assembly Forges - see Lodam_Armory - it lists plenty of products created by these forges that aren't included on this page.
Should this page be expanded to include all equipment made by forges, or should the section be removed and replaced with links to the relevant pages ( Covenant_weaponry ) ( Category:Covenant_vehicles ) ( Combat_harness_(disambiguation) ) ( Covenant_starship#Types ), rather than creating an exhaustive list of what can already be found elsewhere
Worth noting that since there is no dedicated page listing covenant starships, and it is a relatively short list, it could be worth including these on the page.—This unsigned comment was made by Alsohere (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- I believe the intent of the product list on this page is to list all items known to be manufactured by dedicated and established Assembly Forges. From what I can tell, Lodam Armory is not referred to as an "Assembly Forge" in an official capacity. We call it a "forge" on its article, but that's more of a description of its function. The same would go for other armories and weapons manufacturers like Iruiru Armory, Achoem Weapons, Kolaar Manufactorum, etc. unless the lore specifically calls them "Assembly Forges."
- Additionally, we do indeed have a page listing Covenant starships. - TheArb1ter117 (talk) 00:21, January 11, 2024 (EST)
- Just to echo Arby's point, the Forges are in a somewhat muddy place, as they're simply a method of manufacture; saying something is manufactured by Assembly Forges is akin to saying an MA5 rifle is manufactured by Factory; it's pretty true, but everything the UNSC uses is made in a factory. This page is definitely out of date, but should generally be restructured more to focus on the Forges as a technology, and their applications, rather than listing everything that's constructed by them.
- Regarding your point on a list of Covenant ships, we have three locations for that;
- The latter page could probably do with a slight update, but it does the majority of the job well enough. BaconShelf (talk) 07:01, January 12, 2024 (EST)
