Skin differences[edit]
Are the skins different for each armor, because the preorder skins are only available for one armor. Bioniclepluslotr 08:34, 12 June 2012 (EDT)
- Think of these skins like emblems; you can put it in any armor and have it colored in any way you want.— subtank 10:05, 12 June 2012 (EDT)
- So, for example, why does the Amazon preorder say Web skin for CIO? Can you get the Web design for other armors? Bioniclepluslotr 11:11, 12 June 2012 (EDT)
- The preorder skins vary depending on which store you preorder the game from. The skin for CIO is only available if you preorder from Amazon.--Spartacus (Talk | Contribs) 11:17, 12 June 2012 (EDT)
- So is the Web exclusive to the CIO, or is it open to all the others and if you want it on CIO, you have to preorder? Bioniclepluslotr 08:36, 13 June 2012 (EDT)
- Copy+paste: "Think of these skins like emblems; you can put it in any armor and have it colored in any way you want." So, skins are exclusive but are not limited only to CIO (at least, it shouldn't only be limited to CIO... if it is... well... *shrugs*). — subtank 10:14, 13 June 2012 (EDT)
- Oh, so the skins can be put on any armor, and the pictures are just examples? Makes MUCH more sense now. Bioniclepluslotr 10:22, 13 June 2012 (EDT)
- Does anyone have a source for this. Not that I don't believe you, but I'd like to read up some details. Bioniclepluslotr 19:43, 14 June 2012 (EDT)

Skin separation[edit]
I've been going back and forth in my mind with this but is it okay if I create a separate article for the skins? It seems a bit odd to have them listed here without any references or proof of existence, and no sample images. Basically it looks tacky in my opinion. Plus the list is getting long and some (if not all) of these skins belong to a specific armor and the way they are shown here doesn't identify them. So again, is it okay if I (we) create a new article for just "Skins"? I'll look for references if I can find any for them.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 18:11, 24 September 2012 (EDT)
- You know what, I think placing them in a chart like with the Halo: Reach article would suffice.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 18:37, 24 September 2012 (EDT)
HAZOP Skin[edit]
I think ALOY and Forest are the same. They look the same and in the PAX demos, they showed all armor and all skins and each armor only had one skin, so basically ALOY is a renamed Forest camo. Bioniclepluslotr 23:42, 9 October 2012 (EDT)
- You have a point but at the same time they were just "demos". There may be more than one skins available in the final product. Never know. You can change it at your own discretion but just be aware of what I mentioned.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 12:54, 15 October 2012 (EDT)
Default[edit]
So someone wrote that the Recruit variant will be default starting armor. While this is very plausible, I'm not sure if we have any confirmation on this so we should leave it blank for now, right? I mean, the Warrior variant is also a good candidate for default armor as it was the earliest seen and most promoted. I honestly believed that it was default, but of course we have no proof. Or do we? If we do please let me know and correct me. If not, then that Recruit should be left blank I think.--Ender the Xenocide 20:45, 11 October 2012 (EDT)
- The Halo Bulletin 10.10.12 confirms that the Recruit armor is default. --Courage never dies. 23:17, 11 October 2012 (EDT)
- My bad. Adding the ref tages now. —S331 (COM • Mission Log • Profile) 03:58, 12 October 2012 (EDT)
Protector[edit]
Does anyone know how to get the protector armor? Looking at the chart, it seems to be the only armor piece that does not have any info as to how you unlock it. REACHSURVIVES
- I've read that you get it for completing all the UNSC loadout weapons, but it's the only armour I can't see, so I can't confirm. Alex T Snow 16:29, 13 November 2012 (EST)
Be specific[edit]
We have to distinguish whether an armor perm is just a helm, a helm+shoulder+torso combo, or a full suit in the chart and on their respective pages. To do this simply input data for the actual pieces, i.e., don't put shoulder or torso info on the Scanner helm.--Ender the Xenocide 06:32, 12 November 2012 (EST)
- Since the vast majority of the permutations are helmet/chest/shoulders, and each one is always fully unlocked at once, it might be a good idea to simplify the table a bit. The only variants that aren't helmet/chest/shoulders are Recruit, Mk.VI, FOTUS, Scanner, Strider, Deadeye, and Locus. Recruit and Mk.VI are full sets, FOTUS is a full set minus a visor, and the other four are just helmets. We also need sections for forearm and leg armour.Alex T Snow 16:29, 13 November 2012 (EST)
- Coming back to this, the list should really be changed to not list Helmet/Shoulder/Shoulder/Chest for everything, as very few aren't that. Also, the requirements to unlock the skins should be listed as well. Why don't we just list them the same way they're listed in the game, but alphabetically instead? Here's the list:
- Recruit PRIME: Limited Edition*
- Warrior MATRIX: Forerunner Loadout Mastery
- Air Assault VERGE: Vehicle Mastery
- Soldier ZENITH: Spartan Spree - Master
- Aviator BOND: Wheelman - Master
- Defender CONTROL: Bullet In The Brain - Master
- Recon SURGE: Covenant Loadout Mastery
- E.V.A. BREACH: Hail Of Death – Master
- War Master PRIMAL: King Of The Hill Victory - Master
- Scout APEX: Oddball Victory - Master
- Orbital AEON: Covenant Destroyer
- Infiltrator TRACE: Multikill - Master
- Hazop FOREST: Pre-order from Gamestop*
- E.O.D. SHADOW: Regicide Victory – Master
- Oceanic CIRCUIT: Pre-order from Walmart*
- Enforcer TRIBAL: Mounted Turret - Master
- Vanguard CONVERGE: Flag Victory - Master
- C.I.O. WEB: Pre-order from Amazon*
- Venator RAPTOR: Pre-order from Best Buy*
- Gungnir PULSE: Pre-order from the Microsoft Store*
- Commando FRACTURE: Flood Victory - Master
- Ranger STRIKE: Protector - Master
- Protector DRIFT: Weapon Mastery
- Raider DISTORT: Waypoint codes
All specialization skins unlock within their ranks. Mark VI, FOTUS, Deadeye, LOCUS, Scanner, & Strider are the only permutations that differ from the helmet/shoulders/chest setup and are also the only ones that don't have skins.
Wrists:
- Recruit PRIME: Limited Edition*
- Twin-Plated AEON: Close Quarters - Master
- GV-09 Locking FOREST: Pre-order from Gamestop*
- Inner-Plated WEB: Pre-order from Amazon*
- Outer-Plated RAPTOR: Pre-order from Best Buy*
- Contoured SHARD: Perfection - Master

- XV-27 Shifting PULSE: Pre-order from the Microsoft Store*
Legs:

- Outer-Plated CIRCUIT: Pre-order from Walmart*
- XG-89 Narrow RAPTOR: Pre-order from Best Buy*
- Contoured SHARD: Payback - Master
- Over-Locking WEB: Pre-order from Amazon*
There we go, that's every single skin variant and how to unlock it. I'd add this stuff, but I can't really work with tables. Alex T Snow (talk) 04:37, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
MARK VI/LEGENDARY visor[edit]
It seems that these 2 armor sets can only be obtained by people that complete on legendary online, perhaps this should be in the main article somewhere?? DMc2811 11:55, 22 November 2012 (EST)
Current layout[edit]
While the current layout looks very nice it removed most of the in-game information. This wouldn't be that bad but we've been lazy and a good amount of the MJOLNIR variant pages don't have the info on how to actually unlock them (I'm workin' on that). Is there anyway we could make it look more like the Halo 3 page, which contains both the picture and the unlock info?Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 00:03, 12 January 2015 (EST)
