Section 3 ARG[edit]
I've occasionally seen a "Section 3 ARG" mentioned in several different places, but have no memory of it occurring nor can I find an article for it here on Halopedia. Is this simply another name for the Data Drops (or Eleventh Hour Reports?), or is it something else that we happen to lack information on? Thanks for any information. - It was largely contained to the Waypoint forums and has been largely debated if it's canon or not due to a lack of proof. CIA391 has most of the information recorded, so I can get him to at least add some basic info to this page. Actually it's odd we don't have a page up for it at all regardless of canon status.Sith Venator (Dank Memes) 00:15, 12 August 2015 (EDT)
- I vaguely remember someone (CIA perhaps) creating a couple pages relating to it, but they got deleted. --NightHammer(talk)(contribs) 00:17, 12 August 2015 (EDT)
- Yep it was me. I would post the articles again if you lot really want me too.
- Also the Eleventh Hour Reports and even Halo Rebirth came from it originally. Which is kinda now my biggest argument to call it canon. If you count the Section 3 ARG non-canon. Then you should call them non-canon from coming from the ARG. Which would be kinda silly. -CIA391 (talk) 21:04, 12 August 2015 (GMT)
- In what sense do some people consider it to be non-canon? In the same way that the canon status of ilovebees was contested although it was an official work, or do some people believe that it was just an elaborate fan-made work like that Terminus business on The Reclaimer Hub? If it was similar to the way Catalog posts on the forum and led to the Eleventh Hour Reports and Rebirth, then I can't see why it wouldn't be accepted as canon. - Right here is where we discussed its canonicity. The only proof we got what Catalog saying a generic "answer not found" line when asked about the ARG. The elements of the ARG were also pretty dubious, such as a 52 man Spartan team running around Reach with an completely new tag system and killcount going into the hundreds of thousands. - We do have this template for such a case.
This article contains information of dubious canonicity. While not officially established as fully non-canonical, certain aspects of the subject may not be part of the official Halo canon. |
