Talk:11A2R1 naval coilgun battery

According to Halo: The Essential Visual Guide, the UNSC Spirit of Fire (CFV-88) is armed with a MAC Gun, a Missile Delivery System, and a Point-Defense System. So it seems to me that this may be an older variant of the Point-Defense Guns, possibly similar to the Railgun batteries used on the Battlestar Galactica, though those were probably capable of firing at a much faster rate than these.
