Riptide Xeno-Oceanographic is a formerly underwater research facility constructed by Imbrium Machine Complex,[1] similar in design to Fathom Station on Beta Gabriel. It is situated on a human colony world that was taken over by the Created during their uprising some time after October 2558.[2][3]

After taking control of the planet, the Created deemed it in need of terraforming owing to damage inflicted by historical and recent wars. As such, they began this process by shifting continents and oceans with a goal to restore life to the world in ensuing decades, even if it meant the causation of extinction events and the destruction of existing colonial infrastructure in the short term.[2][3] The result of this process saw the ocean surrounding Riptide Xeno-Oceanographic drained and turned into a desert, with significant damage inflicted on the station itself.[1] However, the receding waters have unveiled secrets "worth dying for".[4] The site has since been recreated for use in War Games simulations.[1]

Prior to its destruction, Riptide Xeno-Oceanographic was studying xenobiology in the form of alien fauna and flora. The base also had a submarine dock.[1]

Trivia[edit]
