Promise is a former human colony world.[1][2]

Human-Covenant War[edit]

Promise was recently glassed by 2551.[1] Several UNSC starships attempted to defend the planet, though most were destroyed, leaving their debris in orbit.[3] The UNSC would discover that a Covenant agricultural ship was in orbit that year, initiating Operation: METEORITE.[1][2] The fires from the glassing still burned brightly on the surface.[3]
