ONI Section Four

ONI Section Four, or ONI Section 4, is a subdivision of the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) primarily responsible for surveying and xeno-archaeology.[1]
Duties[edit]
Section Four is a clandestine survey group employed by ONI which conducts xenoarchaeology and planetary surveys, alongside pioneering efforts. The results from these findings are typically used such that ONI can claim their own worlds, without knowledge or supervision by the Unified Earth Government. In addition to these duties, Section Four maintains observation capabilities on worlds belonging to the ex-Covenant, Banished and independent human governments.[1]
While unconfirmed, the Xeno-Materials Exploitation Group's mission may indicate them to be a part of Section Four.
