Crespo's parents were [[Insurrectionist]]s who died wiring a bomb to a government building. He claimed that he never got to know them well because he was very young at the time. Despite this, his [[neural marker]] showed during an evaluation that he still had some fond memories of his parents, such as running into his mother's arms and seeing her smile while preparing a meal. As Crespo and Miles flew away from the Alpha Site, the building exploded. Some time after the battle, they were preparing to pick up [[Kojo Agu]] and Buck from a landing pad at [[NMPD headquarters]]. However, two [[Type-26 Ground Support Aircraft|Banshees]] appeared and shot the Pelican down. Buck and Agu proceeded to rescue them. They survived the crash, but the pilots didn't, so they had to hold out against an assault by Banshees and [[Phantom]]s. Eventually [[Bracktanus|a]] [[Jiralhanae]] [[Jiralhanae Chieftain|Chieftain]] engaged the squad and severely wounded Agu by swinging the bladed side of a Gravity Hammer into his chest. As Buck engaged the Brute, stabbing it in the neck, Crespo assisted Buck by tackling the Brute, ramming his shoulder into its chest. After killing the Chieftain, the squad later went to [[Kikowani Station (location)|Kikowani Station]], where Crespo was the first to notice that they couldn't take the train out of the city since the tunnels were flooded. Before the Spartans reached the rec room, O'Day warned them to stay back before Schein's grenade detonated and sent the four flying backwards as the station's [[artificial gravity]] was shut off. With the onset of the [[Created conflict]], Captain [[Veronica Dare]] enlisted Buck on a mission for ONI to go to [[Cassidy III]] and convince the [[United Rebel Front]] to reveal the secrets of the Forerunner technology cloaking their colony. To Buck's surprise, this meant reforming [[Alpha-Nine]] and breaking Mickey out of prison due to the credibility Mickey had with the Front for his actions. Due to the presumed compromised nature of the station's AI [[Leonidas]], Buck kept the true nature of his mission to the station secret. Mickey was surprised to see his old friend and showed no remorse for his actions, though he did insist that he never intended to actually shoot Buck or Romeo despite holding a gun on them. Buck got so frustrated that he walked away from Mickey's cell, but the subsequent power loss while Buck was stopping Leonidas released Mickey from his cell. Mickey killed the other two Spartan prisoners and overpowered his guards by the time Buck returned for him. Under attack by the station's personnel who believed Buck to be rogue thanks to Leonidas, the two managed to escape with the unexpected help of [[Taylor Miles|Dutch]] and [[Gretchen Ketola|Gretchen]] who turned out to be on the station for their own Spartan training.

Upon arrival at Cassidy III, Mickey reluctantly helped Dare convince Mayor Wells of the seriousness of the situation and was discovered to be something of a hero to the Front for his actions on [[Talitsa]]. Mickey continued to clash with Buck over his Insurrectionist views with Buck feeling betrayed on a personal level by Mickey not only defecting, but trying to turn him and Romeo over to the Front and not bringing his concerns to Buck before turning traitor. When a [[Guardian]] arrived with an army of Forerunner [[armiger]]s, Mickey participated in [[Battle of Cassidy III|the following battle]] using armor given to him by the Front as he lacked the Mjolnir armor of the rest of the squad. Buck finally got Mickey to see the seriousness of the current situation and the two men finally reached an understanding with each other. When the evacuation transports were full, Mickey was the one who sent the remaining civilians back into their homes as they listened to him better than to Mayor Wells. As Alpha-Nine tried to escape in a [[Condor]], Buck nearly fell to his death helping [[Quick to Adjust|Vergil]] to repair the ship. Alpha-Nine formed a human chain to rescue Buck from falling to his death with Mickey forming the end of the chain that grabbed Buck. Buck was left shocked that after everything, Mickey risked his own life without hesitation to save Buck.

After escaping from Cassidy III, Buck lost much of his hostility towards Mickey and admitted that while he couldn't ever be fully trusted again, especially in situations regarding the Front, they could use Mickey's help with the [[Created]]. Buck spoke to Captain [[Thomas Lasky]] and Commander [[Sarah Palmer]] on Mickey's behalf and admitted that while he might be able to forgive Mickey, he would never be able to forget what he did. With Buck willing to work with Mickey again, Lasky and Palmer agreed not to return Mickey to prison for the time being, though no one could predict what would happen to Mickey once the conflict was over, whether he'd be allowed to remain free or be forced to return to prison. Working with Mickey again helped Buck understand that Mickey's actions were not his fault and that while he honored his friendship with Mickey, Mickey had not extended him the same courtesy in return. Buck decided to take advantage of Mickey's uncertain situation and have some fun with it, but not in a malicious way. To this end, Buck introduced [[Jameson Locke]] to Mickey as the guy who used to kill traitors like Mickey. Instead of being harsh on Mickey, Locke, to both Buck and Mickey's surprise, gave Mickey some friendly advice based on his own experiences which Mickey promised to consider. Shortly thereafter, Mickey witnessed Buck and Dare's wedding alongside the rest of Alpha-Nine and [[Fireteam Osiris]].

Shortly after Buck's honeymoon, the reconstituted Alpha-Nine was sent on another classified mission, Mickey a full member of the team once more. ==Personality and traits==
Being an ODST was Crespo's favorite of the military positions in which he had served as of 2552. According to his file, he is highly creative, a risk-taker, and a daredevil.{{Ref/Reuse|oni}} Despite being an experienced combatant, he was somewhat unique among the members of Alpha-Nine, never having witnessed [[glassing]] prior to the Battle of Mombasa. ==Equipment==
During the Battle for Earth, Mickey wore the [[ODST armor/UA]] variant with red armor accents.{{Ref/Reuse|evg}} His left shoulder pauldron is larger than the standard [[ODST armor]]. He carried an ammo belt wrapped around his leg armor, with what seem to be shotgun shells.
