Heaven's Brilliant Bier was a Rasus-pattern interdictor employed by the Covenant. The vessel was one of the very first warships to be used in the newly-engaged Human-Covenant War, and oversaw the initial destruction of Harvest in 2525.[2]
History[edit]
Heaven's Brilliant Bier was employed over Harvest in mid-2525, and was first observed by human forces with the arrival of the CMA Navy's Battle Group 4 on October 7, 2525. Almost immediately, Bier opened fire on the Colonial Military Authority forces - destroying frigates CMA Arabia and CMA Vostok almost immediately and forcing the destroyer CMA Heracles to retreat back to Reach. Heracles' retreat informed the United Nations Space Command of the Covenant threat, with Heaven's Brilliant Bier having broadcast an open message to the CMA battle group; "Your destruction is the will of the gods, and we are their instrument".[4][1]
In response to Bier's effortless destruction of the CMA force, the UNSC Navy assembled the largest fleet ever assembled in human history, under the command of Vice Admiral Preston Cole. Battle Group X-Ray entered Harvest orbit on March 1, 2526, and proceeded to engage Heaven's Brilliant Bier. During the engagement, Bier was able to single-handedly destroy thirteen warships before ultimately being destroyed itself by a massive combined volley of Magnetic Accelerator Cannon fire.[4][1]
The loss of Heaven's Brilliant Bier was considered a tragedy to the Covenant, who mourned its destruction and the loss of its Forerunner relic cores.[2]
Production notes[edit]
In Halo: Fall of Reach - Boot Camp and Halo: The Fall of Reach - The Animated Series, Heaven's Brilliant Bier is replaced by the cruiser Rapid Conversion.
