Quotes[edit]
In a few articles such as Cortana, there is a small collection of quotes at the bottom. I suggest removing all but one defining quote, and placing it above the article, similar to what has been done with the difficulty page Normal. If this can be done with all the articles (one defining quote), I belive it would improve the appearance of the pages. Thoughts? --Dragonclaws 15:36, 9 May 2006 (EDT)
- Done for Cortana. What other pages could use the same treatment? --Azathoth 21:31, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
DVD[edit]
I have begun transcriptions of the various "Behind the Scenes" shows found on the Collector's Edition DVD. Due to the length as well as figuring out which Bungie employee is speaking, I have not been able to complete the article. Anyone who owns the DVD, please help out. --Dragonclaws 20:39, 18 Mar 2006 (EST)
Suggestions[edit]
I propose the following:
1) A "Titles" or "Rank" category or something like that for the new pages describing the Elite ranks and so on
2) A category or place on the front page where we could detail the action figure series (Consistent with this wiki covering all types of Halo merch that I've seen)
3) some kind of lock on the pages so that only people who are registered can change pages. The epedemic of vandalisms and posting of false or badly written information is so bad that it is impossible to keep track of everything. Instead of having to ban hundreds of ISPs, the tedium of having to keep creating new accounts will deter vandals.
-Ed 17:52, 21 April 2006 (EDT)
- 1: Easily done. 2: I suggest you first make a page detailing such works before we add empty links on the main page. 3: While I can do that, it's AgentSeethroo's decision, so I suggest talking to him directly. --Dragonclaws 19:10, 21 April 2006 (EDT)
More Suggestions[edit]
more categories, just so that the pages can be further organized by type.
1) "Organizations" (for pages like ONI, HIGHCOM, High Council, etc.)
2) "Ships" (all the ships)
3) "Ideaology" (Cole Protocol, Great Journey, etc.)
4) "Terminology" (Reclaimer, Monitor, Index, that sort of thing)

Letter To Frankie[edit]
Its time we settle this once and for all! We need to write a letter to Bungie asking what the ranks are for the UNSC military. I am asking everyone to help, so we can all review and write a professional email because I dont want our email to look bad. So shall we start writing?--JohnSpartan117 23:42, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- I would feel honored to help compose such a letter. Let me know if you need my help. Ciao. CaptainAdamGraves

3D Models[edit]
Just wondering if it would be possible to add 3D models of weapons, maps etc. Here is an example of a pet from WoW: http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=3823#modelviewer It would make Halopedia a lot more interactive if we could do that with weapons and maybe maps to start off with, and build from there. Also, maybe we could put a sort of "front page" kind of thing for Halopedia, like what Wikipedia has. What I mean by that is it has opening page: http://www.wikipedia.org/ which is different from it's main page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page . A lot of Wikis have this and it might be something that Halopedia might want, if it is possible. Just some suggestions. Trojan 117 25 July, 2008
Streamlining Level Pages[edit]
If you were to take a look at our collection of pages that talk on the levels, you'll see a mess. Halo 1 has some pages that have random thoughts on the page like Wizard and Hang 'Em High, and others virtually don't exist, like Prisoner. Halo 2 has a level pages with a bit more content to them, but still vary highly from each other. Relic has a "more info" section on it, as well as a trivia section, while they disappear in Headlong, but a strategy section is added, as well as an opinionated Do and Don't section. Halo 3's beta maps currently share a layout, image, and trivia section, as well as the intro, but they could eventually fall out of sync.
I propose that we create a universal layout, either for all maps or a game by game basis, and enforce it. A new Halopedian should be able to find a level page, and use the level template to surf around our collection of level pages and learn many interesting and helpful facts about them. If you have an idea for a potential section for the layout, post it, and we can discuss to see if it would add content to the page.
For a start, I think that each page should keep the game description at the top, then follow it up with a simple map description, such as "Wizard is a small, symmetrical multiplayer map for Halo 1." The first section could be level layout, then the next could be a strategy section, if it would be possible to keep it unbiased. Then a weapon/vehicle/powerup/equipment placement section could be done, followed by optional trivia/Easter egg and glitches sections. Only one image should be included on the page, which would be in the information sidebar. An exception would be for the glitches and trivia sections, if something in those yielded an interesting result (such as the Rooster Teeth vending machines).
However, those are just my suggestions. By all means, add in yours if you want to create some order to the many multiplayer maps we have written about. The community we have here is what makes Halopedia so great, and could make the level pages great, as well.
Wow, I just wrote a speech. Terin 21:04, 8 June 2007 (UTC) I'll be working on Halo: CE for a while. Ghost elite 17:03, 10 March 2008 (UTC) I agree, I also think every one should post there hints, example: I gave a hint for getting the Flame Thrower in Wizard. "Mike" 18:25, 18 December 2008 I have some map links on my page "Mike" 13:53, 19 December 2008
Spanish[edit]

Well, I don't think anyone here knows Spanish well enough to look after the site properly. Does anyone know if it's technically possible at Wikia? -- Dragonclaws 23:10, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
I know enough spanish, but It would take a very long time to translate and don't think it would get a community anyway. - ED 05:05, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
well i could help which the spanish thing...because i live in venezuela and here all we talk spanish =P...but it may take a long time to translate

I could help translating it... but if the games are in english, how many spanish speakers do u think play? if they dont play halo they probably dont need halopedia, i personally love halopedia =]
you could always go on google tanslate. you could copy and paste chunks of text and it would translate it. just a suggestion C'Sept Rahsimee 16:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- Those translation websites are terribly inaccurate. -- Manticore Talk | Contributions 14:22, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Guys, any Wikia proposals (such as other language Halopedias) should be made at Requests, not here. The Spanish Halopedia was founded in July, if anyone is interested in contributing there. -- Manticore Talk | Contributions 14:22, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
I don't know about you guys but I have already finished with the John 117 page. Check it out if you wish. -- SITHASASSIN47 Talk | Contributions 22:50, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah i would help I was born in Spain and all we ever speak is spanish. I would help, but i must agree not many people outside the U.S. enjoy halo as much as we do, and it would take a long time. MASTER R0ACH
In fact, the spanish Halopedia DOES exist (http://es.halo.wikia.com/wiki/Portada). I am a spaniard super Halo fan, and I've edited part of it, but the translation works are slow and difficult to be made on my own... some extra help would be quite nice ;-). So to speak, the Haloverse is a world phenomenon. Of curse that outside the USA it is not as well-known as it is there, but it doesn't mean that non-american people don't know things about this saga. I personally think a multi-language Halopedia is necessary. DeadGhost: Hail, Halo Nation!!
I kinda agree with DeadGhost. I live in Mexico, and I can kinda help with the translation. Jimmyhsieh
Save The Axons![edit]
Anyday now www.Ilovebees.com will be taken down as the game is over and all the wav files that are hosted on the site will be lost! (Quite surprising it hasn't happened already considering it was 2004 when the game ended.)
Therefore it is necessary to upload the files onto our site so that we have a record of the I Love Bees saga! For more info click here
hey, i just went to www.ilovebees.com and found something interesting, for your information: theres a brand-new clock counting down. any1 have info on this? this could be countdown to another game maybe? halo wars? halo 4? at any rate, this means we don't have to rush to archive the site, since its doing stuff againDarthblaze99 19:13, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
Probably for Halo Wars. Halo: Chronicles would be released in a few years.
Or a count down to site closure.
Someone quench the thirst of diagrams![edit]
I am often encountering pages which needs diagrams, and I must say that it seems that I'm the only one doing something. The number of diagram needing articles just keep growing, and I'm getting tired of this. I won't stop though, but it would be nice to see some team members! We Need New Pics[edit]
I have gone on an editing spree fixing little errors and adding new info after contact harvest came out but as a photographer I see that many pages are lacking pics photos catch the eye and make the pages aesthetically pleasing. also many of the pics we have are from halo 1 or 2 we need lots of h3 pics for these pics are good for sections of the page talking about the species in that game but for the most part i think we need updated pic so we need to maybe start a contest for h3 pics, pick a winner and keep all of the submitted photos for use(all done on-line no real world photos) or anything we can do to get pics we need to update halopedia and soon i talked to a few of my friends who came to halopedia for tips and other things and they say it is a bit out of date and have stopped coming! we need new pics!

I knows where to get a picture[edit]
Go onto Google and search for LEGO Halo. When the screen appears before the first result there should be something that says "Image results for LEGO Halo". Then there should be three pictures. The one to the right is the one I'm talking about.
Project MOS[edit]
This Manual of Style for Halopedia is a guide for editors on how to properly format Halopedia articles and an effort to overcome these problems by providing an itemized list of examples of the right way to write articles. In the interests of keeping the articles as clean, concise and professional as possible, all wiki contributors should strive for consistency of content. That is, articles of a similar type should follow a similar layout in order to be consistent.
As any experienced editor can tell you, some things can be written dozens of different (and, arguably, correct) ways. Inevitably, everyone has a different opinion on which way is best. Without some kind of established policy on these issues, wiki articles quickly become untidy and inconsistent as each contributor chooses to do things their way, and this may also give rise to arguments between contributors about which way is best.
Project Flooding Out![edit]
Project: Flooding Out! is a cleanup project to make sure all articles and images in Halopedia are properly sourced and formatted accordingly, and that all unneeded/duplicate images are removed.
