Grattius was a Jiralhanae serving aboard the Covenant cruiser Rapid Conversion. He was a part of Maccabeus' clan and was a veteran member of the crew.

Biography

Battle of Harvest

Grattius was a part of Maccabeus' pack and served as the engineering officer on the Covenant cruiser Rapid Conversion. After recovering the Unggoy Deacon Dadab and Huragok Lighter Than Some, the crew of the Rapid Conversion discovered the human agricultural colony of Harvest in the Epsilon Indi system. Maccabeus' assessment of the planet with the ship's Luminary showed thousands of relics, but the devout Chieftain was soon shocked to learn that Dadab believed that the planet was home to an "Oracle". After a violent encounter with the Kig-Yar of the privateer Minor Transgression, the humans on Harvest sent the crew of Rapid Conversion a message, appealing for peace and explaining the humans wished to meet with the aliens to give them a peace offering.

After the peace meeting went awry and hostilities between the humans and the crew of Rapid Conversion began, the cruiser was struck by rounds from Harvest's mass driver. Grattius informed Maccabeus of the damage to the ship. Furious that his uncle allowed the ship to become disabled, Tartarus challenged Maccabeus for dominance of the pack. Grattius and Strab watched Tartarus kill the Chieftain and become leader of the pack. Grattius was the one that gave Tartarus the Chieftain's helmet. Strab and Grattius then bowed down to the new Chieftain.
