Elduros is a planetary system located among humanity's Outer Colonies and centered around the unstable star Elduros.[2][3] The system is home to Aleria, a colony world formerly controlled by the Unified Earth Government.[3]
Overview[edit]
Planetary system[edit]
There are two planets in orbit around Elduros.[2] At some point between 2490 and 2453,[4][5] the solar activity of Elduros came to an end after millennia of stability. The star's instability led to a dramatic rise in temperatures on Aleria and presumably the other planet in orbit around Elduros as well.[3] By August 2558, it was predicted that Elduros' unstable phase would last another century, but that its subsequent stable phase would last three times that.[6]
History[edit]
In 2490,[4] humanity colonized the Elduros system, establishing a UEG colony on Aleria. Shortly after Aleria was colonized, Elduros ended a millennia-long period of low solar activity. The star's recommenced instability led to the rise of temperatures on Aleria,[3] eventually leading to a drought that began in 2453 and is still ongoing as of 2556.[5] The UEG has since abandoned the planet due to financial concerns, and Aleria is now under the control of various courier guilds.[3]
By 2557, the Via Casilina Trade Route had arisen from the ashes of the Human-Covenant War between the Qab, Cordoba, Shaps, Elduros, and Sverdlovsk systems.[7]
