| A confinement bubble could be generated by seekers to transport prisoners from orbit to the surface of a planet. They were capable of protecting Forerunners in disabled armor from both the vaccum of space and atmospheric entry, but contained only limited oxygen which could quickly run out during an orbit-to-surface transport, although on a planetary surface this was not an issue. The bubble was also able to hold the pain projectors being used on the Didact, the San'Shyuum prisoners and possibly Chakas and Riser. They could also be towed around by grapplers.

| 343 Guilty Spark believed that a confinement bubble could be used to shield a human sufficiently enough to survive otherwise unprotected travel through a slipspace portal, at least one generated by a personal slipspace unit.
