Merge

I think that some of the stars listed here should be merged with planetary systems. For example, Sol and the Sol system. It seems pointless to have more than one article for both. The pages could either be named "Sol", and just have a section on its planetary system, or "Sol system" for example. I feel like renaming/merging all planetary systems to their star name would be better. For example. Epsilon Eridani system to Epsilon Eridani. Stars like Joori can remain as they are since they have no orbiting planetary bodies, and are not planetary systems. NightHammer (talk) 17:34, 19 April 2014 (EDT)

If I were to begin merging these pages, should we keep the star articles or the planetary systems articles. For example, move "Epsilon Eridani system" to "Epsilon Eridani", or move the content of "Oth Sonin system" to "Oth Sonin", then delete the former. I could see arguments for either side, but Halo mostly deals with planetary systems themselves rather than stars (although it should be noted that there is some stars in the Halo universe that have no mentioned orbiting bodies). A third option would be doing what Wookieepedia does, creating individual pages for both the star and system. If you keep it as the system name, it's just that, a system. You have room to talk about the star in the system, as well as its retinue of planets. Seems more encompassing that way.
