| The ''Spirit of Fire'''s bridge is by a second thrown into chaos as overwhelming information floods in from the surface. Crewmembers scramble between stations, and even the usually composed [[Blake]] appears flustered. [[Captain (NAVCOM)|Captain]] [[James Cutter]] rises from his chair and attempts to restore order, directing [[Serina]] to report on the situation.

| Serina moves to a holopad beside Cutter, her demeanor calm but serious. She informs him that both Alpha and Bravo Teams are under fire from unknown combatants, and satellite scans reveal a large number of ground-based units closing in on their positions. She adds that their remaining forces have been outflanked by the [[Covenant]]. Pausing briefly, Serina relays that [[Sergeant]] [[John Forge]] has identified the attackers as [[Jiralhanae|Brute]]s. Cutter's expression hardens as he orders Serina to establish communication with Forge.
