The Arany Basin was a vast lowland east of the Highland Mountains on the continent of Eposz on the human Inner Colony world of Reach.[1]

On October 7, 2559, just prior to Operation: WOLFE, the prowler UNSC Bucephalus detected a low intensity conflict taking place in the basin. As Blue Team was inserting during the operation, on the UNSC Special Delivery, their flight path took them near the basin.[1]
