Hello, and welcome to the Halopedia News Service, dedicated to hosting news articles and buzz from around the Halo Community! You'll find everything from the latest game announcements, to the newest game updates, from the release of new Red vs. Blue videos, to the latest shenanigans from 343 Industries. If you have a news tip or submit your article, please message it to CIA391, with the title "Halopedia News tip". Make sure you follow us on Twitter(Yet to be made) for up-to-date news coverage!

As this new service goes along, more help will be needed to organize, write, and submit news articles. To submit an edit if you aren't currently a News Editor, please get permission from the Chief Editor for anything more than just a spelling or grammar mistake; refusal to do this will result in a one week suspension.

Oracle Newsletter

The Oracle Newsletter was originally started by RelentlessRecusant on December 30, 2006 in an effort to educate Halopedia members about what work needed to be done and also to add a bit of fun into the lives of Halopedians. It was haltingly designed, written, and distributed by RelentlessRecusant himself until the night of February 10, 2007, when the acclaimed user Guesty-Persony-Thingy offered to help write and distribute the Oracle Newsletter.

The two brought the Oracle Newsletter from its state of torpor, and RelentlessRecusant graphically redesigned the newsletter in accordance with the new trendy color schemes, while Guesty-Persony-Thingy reorganized the newsletter and worked on the content. Both agreed to distribute the newsletter on Saturday nights regularly.

After yet another state of depression for nearly a month, on May 20, 2007, RelentlessRecusant restarted the Oracle Newsletter in yet a third different skin with the help of a new staff writer, Phil.e. and a new graphical designer, Caboose. Later, CommanderTony and TheObviousOne were recruited for their knowledge about the Halo 3 Beta. Volunteer James-001 later lent a large helping hand to the Oracle Newsletter, and was accepted as an Intern Writer on June 24, 2007. In the following two days, RelentlessRecusant accepted six more intern writers: 2401 PT, David Fuchs, Echelon3, GhostXIII, Spartan-091, and Spartytime.

Due to some unknown reason (but presumably preoccupation with other tasks), production of the Oracle was halted in July, with Issue XVI being the last to be published. With the introduction of the Halopedia Podcast, and the fact that issues had ceased to be published, RelentlessRecusant stepped down as Editor-in-Chief, and appointed Manticore as his replacement as Editor-in-Chief on September 16, 2007. Manticore only produced one issue and officially resigned on January 16, 2008. Forgottenlord' appointed himself editor-in-chief on July 26, 2008 and has since brought the Oracle back to monthly distribution till Volume XX.

Old Halopedia News

Halopedia News was then brought back in a new form around March 31st and brought news often daily for the year of 2009. Managing to get 2 big interviews. Though it was was officially disbanded by CommanderTony on February 7th, 2010 due to a lack of interest by the community and by a majority of the staff.
